Donald Polak Sr., of Elm Street, West Pittston, died Wednesday at homeBorn in Kingston, he was son of John and Margaret Newman Polak, Wyoming.
He resided in West Pittston most of his life and graduated from Wyoming Area High School.
He was employed as a mechanic by Gilchrist Trucking Inc. for several years, and later as a foreman by Kane Freight Co., Taylor, for eight years.
He attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ, West Pittston.
He was a member of the South Mountain Land Association and the National Rifle Association of America and was a social member of the Wyoming Hose Co 2.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, the former Jeanette Tilley; sons Donald Jr. and Brian, at home; a daughter, Andrea, at home; brothers Dr. John H. Polak, Martinez, Ga.; and Jason Polak, Wyoming.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday from the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. Wayne Shontz officiating.
Interment will be in the Wyoming Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston, 18643.
