PLATTSBURGH -- Stephen Dudyak, 83, of Nevada Oval, Lake Forest, Plattsburgh, N.Y., and formerly of Erin Avenue, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home.
He was born in Spring Valley, N.Y., on Oct. 2, 1925, the son of Michael and Susan (Biss) Dudyak.
Stephen was a graduate of Spring Valley High School. He then served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After serving his country, Stephen graduated from Syracuse University in 1951. He had been employed in the Pharmaceutical Industry, retiring from Wyeth in Rouses Point, N.Y. Stephen was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Plattsburgh Lodge 621. Stephen and his wife, Therese, spent their winter months in Vero Beach, Fla., enjoying their retirement and warmer weather.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Susan Dudyak; his first wife, Barbara Dudyak, who passed away November of 1987; two brothers, Peter and John Dudyak; and a sister, Margaret Hope.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Theresa (Pellerin) Dudyak of Plattsburgh; three sons, Brian Dudyak and his wife, Theresa of Middletown, Conn., Darryl Dudyak of Worcester, Mass., Stephen M. Dudyak and his wife, Melissa of Chazy; one daughter, Jamie Dudyak of Plainfield, Conn.; a sister-in-law, Natalie of Spring Valley, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Maeghan, Jamie, McClain and Reagan; several nieces and nephews. Stephen is also survived by three stepchildren, Cheryl Scher and her husband, Mayer of Troy, N.Y., Gregg Guimond and his fiancé, Terri Alloggio of Keeseville, Karen Carter and her companion, Al Young of West Chazy, N.Y.; six step grandchildren, Leah and Zachary Scher, Jacob and Meagan Guimond, Dylan and Devin Carter.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Yonkovig, pastor of St. Peter's Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
