A Remarkable Family:
We clip the following from the Stockbridge Sun, believing it will interest many of our readers as the family referred to is well known here. Some weeks ago there was published a little note of the Holt family which led to a comparison of notes by members of a still more remarkable family in some respects than the Holts. The parents were Leonard and Anna Isbell. Leonard Isbell was born in 1794, was a soldier in the war of 1812 and died in 1856. Anna Isbell died about nine years ago. They were father and mother of fifteen children, 14 of whom grew to manhood and womanhood, and married; 12 of them are now alive, the eldest being 72 and the youngest 48. The combined age of these twelve is 631 and their average is 60 11-12 years. These twelve persons are
Lewis Isbell St. John, Mich. 72
John Isbell St. John, Mich. 71
Lucinda Rogers Jackson, Mich. 68
Nathan Isbell Saline, Mich. 66
Sarah Rogers Ellington, Mich. 65
August Isbell San Bernado, Cal. 63
Uri Isbell Stockbridge, Mich. 60
Charles Isbell Saline, Mich. 58
Matilda Robinson Morrice, Mich. 55
Marshal Isbell Jackson, Mich. 53
L. Marett Isbell Leslie, Mich. 51
Sidney M. Isbell Jackson, Mich. 48

It will thus be seen that all but one reside in Michigan, and he only left this state a couple of years ago. All of the family are total abstainers from intoxicating liquors, and is believed that none of them use tobacco.
