Adeline Brown, 96 of Andrews, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in an Andrews care center.
A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late William Lynn and Abbie Lee Adams Pullium and wife of the late James Lee Brown, who died Nov. 22, 1990. She was a homemaker and member of Valleytown Baptist Church.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Lunsford.
Surviving are a daughter, Alta Rogers of Marble; a son, Roy Brown of Andrews; a sister, Juanita Derreberry of Andrews; eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
The family received friends from 1:45 p. m. Saturday, April 19, at Valleytown Baptist Church prior to the service.
Funeral services were at 2 p. m. Saturday, April 19, at Valleytown Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Jones and Glenn Rogers officiating. Burial was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Cook, Bobby Clayton. Mike Allison. Gary Wilson. Billy Phillips and Todd Hicks. Honorary pallbearers were great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Valleytown Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Ruby Brown, 2542 Stewart Road, Andrews, NC 28901.
