Funeral services for Virginia Clegg Schrodt Smith, 101, of Jeffersonville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Wall Street United Methodist Church, 240 Wall St., Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
She died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at Westminster Healthcare, Clarksville.
She was a retired certifying officer with the U.S. Census Bureau, member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, a former member of Study Club and a lifelong member of Wall Street United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ruth Naomi Circle.
Survivors include her nieces, Doris Jean Waits and her husband, Henry, and Virginia C. Sobeich; her nephew, Frank E. Clegg and his wife, Mildred; stepson, Ernest W. Smith and his wife, Janet; stepdaughter, Lois S. Markham and her husband, Wade; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James H. Schrodt and Ernest A. Smith; and niece, Margie Clegg Phillips.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home's Main Street Chapel, Jeffersonville, from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, and at the church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Wall Street United Methodist Church and the local American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
