Elizabethtown Post 21 September 1882 Our village is pained this morning by the announcement of the death at about 9 o'clock last evening of Abijah Perry. He was one of the most respected, as he was one of the oldest of our citizens, and his death leaves, in the church of which he was a member and in the community in which he has always borne an active part, which we cannot hope soon to see as well and acceptably filled. He has been suffering for some weeks, and his early decease has been apprehended, though his many friends had still hoped he might be spared for a season. The funeral is to be on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
