T-Bone Bullard dies in Florida
Alvis (T-Bone) Bullard, 52, New Mexico state senior vice commander for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 401, died suddenly Tuesday at Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
He had been in Florida for a week on a job-related military assignment when he was stricken with a heart attack.
Mr. Bullard, a past VFW post commander, was also active in the American Legion and past state commander of the Military Order of the Cootie.
Born in Grand, Okla., he served in the Army Air Force at Kirtland AF Base during World War II, making Albuquerque his home shortly afterward.
He was an instrumentation technician, responsible for video recording equipment for aircraft testing of weapons systems at Kirtland since March 1956.
He preferred to be called by his nickname, "T-Bone," which he used in college.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou of Tijeras Canyon; a son, Larry Lee of Albuquerque; a daughter, Mrs. Lana Jean Allen of Las Cruces; his mother, Mrs. Bess Bullard of Cheyenne, Okla.; and two sisters, Nina Krober and Sylvia Moad, both of Cheyenne.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by French Mortuary.
