VIRGINIA LACEY ALSTON

CAMP WOOD - Virginia Lacey Alston, 79, of Camp Wood died on Nov. 7, 2008, at Peterson Hospital in Kerrville, due to complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD.
Alston was born to Leo Alexander and Eva Welch Lacey on June 5, 1929, in Barksdale.
She graduated in 1946 from Camp Wood High School.
She married Clifford James Alston in Rocksprings on June 12, 1948. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June 2008.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford James Alston of Camp Wood; two daughters, Linda Kay Alston Gilmore and husband, Richard Dick, of Little Elm and Stephanie Kay Alston Sifuentes and husband, Ricky, of Camp Wood; four sons, Clifford James Alston Jr. of Camp Wood, Donald Ray Alston and wife, Stacy, of Cocoa Beach Fla., Robert Leo Alston and wife, Debra, of San Antonio and James Lewis Alston and wife, Janice, of Camp Wood; 12 grandchildren, Christopher Lawton Glynn of Dallas, Jason Dewayne Glynn of Big Spring, Dina Glynn Dietrich of Little Elm, Christina Kay Alston of Palmbay, Fla., Melissa Kay Alston of San Angelo, Brittany Renee Alston of Amarillo, James Lewis Alston Jr. of San Antonio, Sharina Gaylynn Alston of Camp Wood, Sabrina Kay Alston of Camp Wood, Stephen A. Sifuentes, Megan Rene' Sifuentes and Seth Robert Sifuentes, all of Camp Wood; five great-grandchildren, Alexis K. Williams of Palmbay, Fla., Braelee Bramblet of Amarillo, Jude Vincent Glynn of Dallas, Emily Kay Dietrich and Addyson Isabella Dietrich, both of Little Elm; one great great-granddaughter, Kallee Jo Sifuentes of Rocksprings; one brother, Leo A. Lacey and wife, Jane, of Goldthwaite; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Myrtle Beatrice Lacey Barker and Kathleen Lacey Womack; one niece, Paula Christine Barker Garrison; and one nephew, Michael Lynn Lacey.
A memorial service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hill Country Church of Christ in Camp Wood. Interment will be held privately at a later date in Barksdale Cemetery in Barksdale.
The family suggests memorial donations to Hill Country Church of Christ, P.O. Box 918, Camp Wood, TX 78833. Arrangements by Wright Funeral Home of Kerrville.
