Name on headstone spelled differently. Date of birth on headstone different than actual date of 9 May 1814. Headstone was found near Johann Georg LEPERE's headstone in Concordia Cemetery. Walking toward top of hill behind Johann Georg's headstone one will find Jacob's about 7 or 8 rows behind and to the right as one walks up the hill. July 14,2012, the stone is still there although it is tilting.Name on stone is spelled as Lepaer but the spelling used by family is LEPERE. According to Erlenbach church records, he was born in Erlenbach, Kreis Germersheim on May 9, 1814 [note that tombstone date is incorrect]; came to America with his father and step-mother and 6 siblings in 1835 or early 1836. The family settled in Section 22 of Stookey Township, St. Clair County, Illinois.
