Gladys Marie Odden, age 92 of Maiden Rock, died on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Plum City Care Center. Gladys was born the daughter of Albert and Hilma (Johnson) Andrews on June 23, 1917 in the town of Hartland, Pierce County, Wisconsin. She attended the Forest Home School through 8th grade. On November 20, 1934, Gladys married Lester Odden at her parent's home. They farmed in the town of Salem, retiring in 1975. Life was full of activities on the farm.

Gladys stayed on the farm until March of 2006 when she moved to Ellsworth. In October of 2008 Gladys moved to the Plum City Care Center. She loved her flower gardens and her yard. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed homemaking and entertaining. Gladys was a great cook, and there was always plenty of food. She loved to travel and was always ready to go somewhere. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hilma Andrews; husband, Lester Odden; brothers, Lyle Andrews, Hilbert Andrews, Alvin Andrews; and sister, Phyllis White. A funeral Service was held on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 2pm at the United Methodist Church in Maiden Rock. Visitation was also on Friday from 12-2pm at the church. Interment was in the Maiden Rock Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Maiden Rock.
