Elizabeth Robinson, the 12th child of Peter Robinson, Sr. and second wife Experience Lumbert, bapt. Oct. 17, 1714 at Norwich, Conn. She d. at Windham, Conn. in Nov. 1798. Elizabeth has no known gravestone, but she is assumed to be interred at the old North section of Scotland Cemetery at present-day Scotland, Conn. This is where her father, many of her siblings, and her own children are interred.

On Nov. 13, 1746 at Windham, Conn. Elizabeth m. as his second wife, Josiah Smith, s. of John Smith and Susanna Chesley, b. May 27, 1707 at Watertown, Mass. He already had, by his first wife Amy Cottrell, nine children b. of record at Preston and Windham, Conn. Josiah Smith and Elizabeth Robinson had an additional eight children of record at Windham.

According to the Windham, Conn. vital records, Elizabeth (Robinson) Smith died at Windham in November 1798, the day and her age not given. There does not appear to be an entry for her in the Hale Connecticut Cemetery database. Her husband Josiah Smith d. testate at Windham sixteen years earlier between Jan. 27, 1781 (date of his will) and Feb. 26, 1782 (date the will was proved) at the Windham Probate Court. However, he has no date of death in the Windham town records.

The children of Elizabeth Robinson and Josiah Smith, all recorded at Windham, Conn., are:

• i. Josiah (erroneously called Jonah in the printed Windham VRs but bapt. as Josiah) Smith, Jr., b. Dec. 6 (bp. Dec. 13), 1747; m. Dec. 12, 1776 at Windham, his cousin Eunice Palmer, dau. of Elihu Palmer, Jr. and Lois Foster, b. Aug. 25, 1755 at Windham. Ten children of record at Windham.

• ii. Ephraim Smith, bapt. May 28, 1749; m. Elizabeth Bingham May 24, 1775 at Windham. Ephraim's existence, his marriage and children is only found in the Scotland Society Church records at present-day Scotland, Conn.

• iii. Elias Smith, b. June 10 (bp. June 17), 1750; d. unmarried at Windham Oct. 10, 1771 (g.s.)

• iv. Cotterill (q.v.) Smith (erroneously called Caleb in the printed Windham VRs but bapt. as "Cotteren"), b. Dec. 14 (Dec. 22), 1751; d. unmarried at Windham Apr. 4, 1781 (g.s.)

• v. Elizabeth Smith, b. Mar. 14 (bp Mar. 25), 1753; d. unmarried at Windham Nov. 3, 1771.

• vi. Sarah Smith, b. Feb. 4 (bp. Feb. 9), 1755; m. Nov. 11, 1779 at Windham, Conn., Luther Manning.

• vii. Martha Smith, b. Aug. 30 (bp. Sept. 4), 1757; m. Apr. 30, 1780 at Windham, Conn., Daniel Burnham.

• viii. Jarius Smith, b. June 22 (bp. July 1), 1759; m. late in life on Oct. 18, 1818 at Windham, Nancy Bingham. Two children of the family.
