Charles Henry, son of Joseph and Louisa VanDruff, was born in Rock Island, Ill., August 24, 1850, and passed from this life, September 25, 1938 at a Council Bluffs hospital, at the age of 88 years, one month and one day.

Mr. VanDruff moved to Mills County, Iowa in 1879 and to Pottawattamie county in 1880, He lived on a farm five and one-half miles east of Oakland until 1903, when the family moved to their present home in Oakland.

As a young man, Mr. VanDruff united with the Methodist church in Rock Island, Ill. In 1881, he was married to Laura Belle Barr, who, with five children, survives. One daughter, Augusta, preceded him in death.

Those who survive are Fred W. (Edna) and Leonard (Ethel) E. VanDruff of Council Bluffs, Archibald (Deulah) C. VanDruff and Mrs. Lawrence E. (Jessie) Dool of Oakland, and Mrs. Clarence A. (Anna) Pierce of Sedallia, Colo.; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lemuel (Lucretia) of Elwood, Neb., S. Oscar (Catherine) of Arapahoe, Neb., and J. Arthur (Anna) of Alberta, Canada; five sisters, Mrs. James (Ella) Wynes of Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Leven (Anna) Barr of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Staley and Miss Estella VanDruff of Grand Junction, Colo., and Mrs P. S. (Martha) Merle of Martinez, Calif.
