MAGGIE JONES GAINER
1915 - 2009

Maggie Jones Gainer, of Pensacola, died October 29, 2009 at Southern Oaks Nursing Home under the care of Covenant Hospice of NW FL.
Ms. Gainer was born in Upson County, GA on January 28, 1915 to her mother, Addie Jones.
In the early 30's Maggie married Mr. Jake Gainer and moved to Florida. She was employed by George Nicholson in the 1950's, with whom she worked for over 40 years, as a housekeeper and caregiver to his sons, Bud and David Nicholson. In 1982, Ruth Glant befriended Maggie and they remained dear friends until Ruth's death in Nov. 2008.
Maggie is survived by her son, Jake Gainer, Jr. (Pensacola); niece, Maxine Searcy and nephew Horace Hughley, Jr., both of Georgia; also, Ruth Glant's four daughters, Joan Bullock (Pensacola), Donna Terrian (Orlando), Lynne Howard (Tampa), and Susan Norton (Michigan).
Services will be held Monday, November 2, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Reed Funeral Home, 3220 N. Davis Hwy, with Rev. Joel Underwood officiating, and burial will follow at Good Hope AME Cemetery, 208 Gulf Beach Highway, Warrington, FL.
