Hubert Kraus, for the past ten years or more a resident of the Stephen territory, died at his home here early today, following an illness extending over a period of several months. Hardening of the arteries, with his advanced years, was responsible for his passing. Early in the present week, when Mr. Kraus's condition became alarming, Dr. Bratrud of Warren was called in consultation with Dr. Mattson, who had been attending the patient, and it was thought that an operation might possibly prolong his life. Mr. Kraus was taken to the hospital in Warren Tuesday night, but the following day it seemed that death was only a matter of hours distant, and the operation was not resorted to. Mr. Kraus was brought home on the morning flyer later today, death ending his sufferings an hour after his return. Funeral services will be conducted from St. Stephen's church on Saturday morning."
