Born 2 May 1717 at Marlborough, Middlesex, MA to Charles Rice and Rachael Wheeler. He married Hannah Barrett of Grafton, MA on 30 Jun2 1742. He served in the French and Indian War in 1756 and 1757. He bought a farm of Cpt. Samuel Robinson while in Hardwick, MA where late in life he removed to Bennington. From "History of Hardwick Mass" by Lucius Robinson Paige.

Gravesite Details

Oliver is listed by H.C. Day in the Day Papers, Book M, p 302 as a Revolutionary War Soldier buried in the Bennington Center Cemetery (Old Bennington) however, no stone was found for him when transcribing in 1997.
