Lela Barton
Funeral services were conducted at Anderson Funeral Chapel March 29 for Lela Barton, 73, who died at Portland General Hospital March 27. Rev. Bruce Clark officiated and internment was in Idlewild Cemetery.
Mrs. Barton was born Feb. 10, 1890 in Canton, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Martin L. Emry. She married Ralph Willard Barton April 2, 1913 in Hood River. She had lived in Hood River for 40 years prior to moving to Portland 15 years ago, and was a member of the Christian church.
Survivors are her husband, Ralph, of Portland; two daughters, Mildred Hupy and Margery Mays, both of Cascade Locks; two brothers, Nelson and George Emry, both of Hood River; a sister, Susan E. Steele of Sacramento, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
