OBITUARY
Mona Nadine Ricks Frei, 74, of Ammon, ID, died from cancer Sunday, July 6, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 15, 1934, in Rexburg, ID, to Owen Winford Ricks and Sadie Ina Jacobs Ricks. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1952. She married Ben Albert Frei on April 30, 1952, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions.

Mona enjoyed music, singing, sewing, quilting, collecting dolls, traveling, camping, and most of all, spending time with her family. She gave a lifetime of service to her family and church. Mona was a selfless and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was industrious, hardworking, had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She maintained a cheerful disposition in spite of the many medical hardships she faced during her life.

Survivors include her husband, Ben Albert Frei, of Ammon, ID; daughters, Judy Infanger (Tom), Peggy Cress (Dale), Carol Hatch (Ron), Kathy Holverson (Blaine) all of Idaho Falls, ID, Ruth DeLand of Vancouver, WA, and Amy Jones (Randall) of Lindon, UT; sons, Ben Wendell Frei (Aurelia) of Provo, Utah, Michael Frei of Sacramento, CA, Kent Frei (Tanya) of Snowflake, AZ, John Frei (Diane) of Burlington, NC, Scott Frei (Jana) of Rochester, MN, and Aaron Frei of Ammon, ID; sisters, Pearl Davenport (Myron) and Dorothy Franck of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Frank Ricks of Idaho Falls, ID; brothers-in-law, Harold Christensen of Green River, WY, Merrill Butikofer of Ammon, ID; sister-in-law, Mary Ricks of Idaho Falls, ID; Aunt Miriam Ricks of Rexburg, ID; 64 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren (with 9 more on the way).

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Donna Ricks Butikofer and Alice Ricks Christensen and 3 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at the Ammon LDS Stake Center, 2055 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Jim Summers officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls, and 9-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the funeral.
