Born in Alexander County, N.C., September 3, 1897, A. Clyde Bowman was the son of Richard Columbus Bowman and Martha Echerd Bowman.

He was single; his occupation was working as a harness maker at Hickory Harness Co., Catawba Co., N.C. (his brother, Sippie Luther Bowman, was Mgr. & Owner of the Co.)

On January 15, 1919, Hickory, Catawba County, N.C., A. Clyde Bowman, died at the age of 21.
