She was born to the late Mathias and Margaret Feldner Berenz.
On May 24, 1938 she married Leander Schmitz at St. Cloud Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1988; her husband preceded her in death on June 16, 1990.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and a Lifetime Member with the IAM Union. Angelita loved working outside in her flower garden and faithfully kept a daily journal.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Dietz of New Holstein; her 2 sons, Vernon (Diane) Schmitz and Francis (Barbara) Schmitz also of New Holstein; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Schmitz of Franklin, WI; 11 grandchildren, Larry (Audrey) Dietz, Jim (Mary) Dietz and Jeff (Rosanna) Dietz, Sherri (Kieth) Scharenbroch, Tammy (Matt) Flora, Corinne (Jeff) Ritter, Brian (Julie) Schmitz, Kelly (Kevin) Christian, Todd (Michelle) Schmitz, Brigette (Dave) Sonnabend and Tim (Jeana) Schmitz; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Schmitz of St. Cloud; 2 brothers, Alfred (Delores) Berenz and Claude (Alice) Berenz both of Plymouth; a brother-in-law, Donald Sippel of St. Cloud.

A Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
