James W. 'Jim' Shoop, 87, Valley View Home, died Thursday at the home. He was born in Frankstown Twp. to Charles R. & Laura Elizabeth (Weld) Shoop. He married Lillian Florence Shultz Oct. 15, 1943, in Winchester, VA and she died Oct. 16, 2008. Survived by 3 children: James C. & wife, Darlene, of Sellersville, PA; Jeanne L. Shoop, of St. Petersburg, FL, and David W. & wife, Margie, of Hollidaysburg; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandson; brother, Charles; and Jim's twin sister, Jessie Weber. He was predeceased by 3 brothers: Col. Lewis B. Wilson and Roy and Robert Shoop; and 3 sisters: Olive Cleo Shoop, Velma Brubaker and Vera Shultz. Jim was a 1941 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and retired as an electrician. He was a member of Altoona Bible Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona. Interment, Royer Cemetery.
