Forbis Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Cater Funeral Home Chapel with interment and military honors in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday with an Eagles service at 6 p.m. at Cater Funeral Home.
Wayne was born Sept. 7, 1936, in Boone County, a son of Charles Edwin and Edith Mae Mead Forbis. Before retiring, he was owner and operator of Wayne's Bug Control. He had previously owned and operated Hickmans Tavern and several service stations. He served his country in the National Guard and was past president and club manager of Eagles No. 2669, was a state office of Eagles and a Golden Eagle member.
He was married to Donna Logue Bragg for more than 13 years, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, William Garrett and wife Pearilee of Cairo, Mo., Pattie Forbis and Dale Carr of Centralia, Edith Mae Canole and David Vaughan Sr., Charles Wayne "Charlie" Forbis Jr. and wife Lisa, all of Hallsville, and Debra Pollard and husband Dustin of Moberly; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister Rosalie Maurey of Columbia; Wayne's loving pets, Precious, Sparkle, Gusto, Buster and Oscar; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wives Peggy Sue Forbis and Doris Forbis; children Bobby and Roscoe Garrett and Teresa Kent; his parents; brother Donnie Paul; and sister Alliene Niles.
