Hepler moved from Penna. to Iowa(Greenfield, Adair Co. Ia.) where they remained until most of their children had grown up. In the year of 1880, they came to join their oldest son, John Boyd Hepler in Oregon settling in Clackamas County. This part of the county was so new at the time Mr. & Mrs. Hepler may justly be classed among the pioneers of this county. Mrs. Hepler leaves a husband & eight children to hold her memory in tender esteem.Three of her children, John Hepler, Mrs. George Sutherland, & Mrs. Ed Morris are residents of this place. There are 50 grandchildren & 28 great grand-children. By her useful & unselfish life, Mrs. Hepler had endeared herself, not only to her own relatives but to all who knew her. Her friends have the comforting assurance that death came to her unaccompanied by suffering. She was bright & active till within a few days before her death when she gave up her usually routine of work, simply for weakness, the exhaustion of one whose earthly work is done. Her life's work was marked by tranquility. Burial was in Aurora Odd Fellows Cemetery. She was married 4 Feb 1858 in Westmoreland Co. Penna.
