"Alcus Boone, Sr., 91, resident of 536 West Chippewa St., Brookhaven, died at his residence Oct. 11, 1987. Services will be held Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. in Hartman-Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Martin Case and Norman Boone officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Mr. Boone was a longtime merchant in Brookhaven prior to his retirement. He was a native of Walthall County. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church having served on its administrative board and was a member of the Youngblood Men's Bible Class.
Mr. Boone is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Sartin Boone, Brookhaven; his son, Alcus Boone, Jr., Brookhaven; his daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Marguerite) Cohen, Brookhaven; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Tommie Lee) Price and Mrs. Claude (Ellen) Nations, both of Brookhaven; three grandchildren, Mrs. Suzanne McMillan of Pearl; Mrs. Donna Smith of Lafayette, La. and Mrs Caroline Passmore of Brookhaven; and three great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Donn Nations, Dean Nations, Phillip Price, Richard Price, Williard Price and Ellis Passmore."
