Mary Ashton, daughter of William Ashton and Sarah Etherington, married James Tran 3 Feb 1812 at Sutton in Holderness, and together they raised 13 children. After her husband's death in 1844, Mary Ashton Tran and her children emigrated to Canada. Mary died in Markham Township, York County, Ontario of 'old age' in 1880. It is interesting to note that her tombstone date is Aug 25 1880, while the date on her registration of death is Oct 25 1880.
