Services for Mrs. George W Burgess, 45, were held at the Methodist Church at South Bend, Texas officiated by Rev. B.E. Kimbrow, the Methodist circuit pastor.

Nannie Ella Akers moved to Young County, Texas with her parents in 1902.

Nannie Ella Akers married George Washington Burgess on 13 February 1910 at her parent's home in the South Bend community. Ten children were born to this union, three preceded their mother in death.

She was identified with the Baptist Church during her childhood and was a faithful church member throughout her life.

Survived by her husband; children - Mrs. Arnell Green, Rayford Burgess, J.W. Burgess, Dorothy Burgess, Billie Wayne Burgess, Mrs. Rudell Patrick, Mrs. Howard Gilliam; her father; six sisters and three brothers - Mrs. J.L. Price, R.L. Akers, Mrs. W.H. Timmons, Mrs. K.D. Danley, Mrs. W.F. Fleenor, Mrs. B.A. Harroun, J.W. Akers, Raymond Akers, Mrs. Willard Gescue.
