Roscoe Akers married Miss Sadie Jo Patrick on 29 October 1911 at Young County, Texas. Three children were born to this union. The couple moved to Kermit for a number of years on account of their work with an oil company.

Services for Roscoe Lee Akers, 64, were held at the Eliasville Baptist church with Rev. Kenneth Cantwell officiating, assisted by Gordon Downing, local minister of Eliasville Church of Christ. Mr. Akers moved to Eliasville with his parents. He was a member of 10 children. Mr. Akers became a member of the Baptist Church in early life and lived a consistent Christian life. He was active in the civic affairs of Eliasville. He was a rancher and farmer.

Survived by his wife; two daughters - Mrs. Guy Salmon, Mrs. Roy Owen; one son - J.C. Akers; two brothers - J.W. Akers, E.R. Akers; six sisters - Hester Price, Maggie Timmons, Mrs. K.D. Dailey, Mrs. B.A. Narroon.

In the 1930s and 1940s, he was the foreman of the Carbon Black Plant near Eliasville.
