Mooresville-Mrs. Edna Effie Burns of 259 South Broad Street, Mooresville, died Saturday in Lowrance Hospital in Mooresville following an illness of two years.
A native of Catawba County she was born Sept. 12, 1905 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin A. Mingus. Her husband, B. L. Burns, survives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Calvin Funeral Home in Mooresville with the Rev. Zane Gray Norton and the Rev. Lester Alman officiating. Burial was in the Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincoln County.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Mrs. Thomas W. Giles, Sr. of Newport News, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Huffman of Newton; three brothers, Herbert Mingus of Hickory, Ray Mingus of Taylorsville, Clyde Mingus of Newton, and four grand-children.
