Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2002 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Alphonse Ramler, age 96, who died Monday at the Paynesville Area Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday, and Friday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. The Golden Smiles will pray at 4:30 p.m., the St. Theresia Mission Group and Richmond Knights of Columbus will pray at 7:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m.
Alphonse was born in Farming to Bernard and Mary (Muehlstein) Ramler. He married Alma Ramler on November 22, 1932 at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud, MN.
Alphonse enjoyed farming near Richmond and Farming. He operated a gas station east of Richmond for many years. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, St. Theresia Mission Group, 3rd degree member of the Richmond Knights of Columbus, State Fire Warden, former Munson Township Assessor and former Munson Township Treasurer.
Survivors include his wife Alma of 69 years; children, Geraldine (James) Wilson, Marvin (Sandra) Ramler, Karen (Robert) Frank; grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson, Tricia Wilson, Jason Ramler, William (Susan) Frank, Brian (Saori) Frank, Brenda (Paul) Wraalstad; great grandchild, Erica Frank and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jerome and Peter; sisters, Pauline and Eleanor; brothers, Bernard, George, Edward and Raymond; half sisters, Anna and Rose; half brothers, Joseph, Henry, Anton and Frank.
