VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Susan Humbargar Bobby, 55, died on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009. Susan was born Aug. 9, 1954, in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Darrell and Billie Humbargar, of Niles, Kansas. Her early childhood was in Niles and her family moved to Whiting, Indiana, where she grew to adulthood. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Susan loved gardening, flowers and was an active member of political groups in Valparaiso where she made her home and raised two sons. Susan was a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Computer Science. She has worked as a Systems Analyst for over 30 years for the AroelorMittal Steel Company of Whiting, Indiana, formerly Inland Steel Company.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and an infant granddaughter. Survivors include her sons, Shawn, of the home, and Tim and wife Suzie, of Dyer, Ind.; four grandchildren, Emma, Jonathan, Zoe and Conner; two sisters, Dixie Haddock, of Salina, and Helen Mirza, of Schereville, Ind. Also surviving are nephews, nieces, cousins and many, many friends.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 16, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dyer, Ind.
Roselawn Mortuary in Salina, Kansas, will be in charge of the graveside services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Greenville Cemetery in Niles, Kansas.
