After his initial schooling in Tyndall Field, FL, he was transferred to an unidentified duty station in England.
Records indicate that he married his first wife Beauties Marie Carnley Ramirez in 1943 & they subsequently divorced. Per family sources, Charles & Beauties had one child, a son, who died in infancy.
Sometime after 1946, Charles married his second wife, Gloria Marie Merkle, a native of Queens NY. Gloria was the daughter of Gottlieb Frederick Merkle and his wife Emily Crankshaw Merkle.
Charles & Gloria had at least 10 children. They lived in Queens until about 1960, at which time the family moved to upstate NY, settling in Elmira.
Charles worked for many years as an employee of the City of Elmira, NY. He died September 5, 1997, in Elmira, and is buried there with wife Gloria at Woodlawn National Cemetery.
