Elmer Alexander Wheeler married Ellie Elmira "Allie" Green on March 29, 1900 in Jasper County, Missouri. Elmer was residing in Carthage and Allie in Golden City. After they were married they lived in Golden City for a while, and then moved to Arkansas, Kansas and back to settle in Carthage.
Little did they know that they would become parents to 5 GIRLS... Marie, Grace, Mable, Pauline and Anita...known about town as "The Wheeler girls". Elmer was a kind and caring father. To "the girls" he was known as "Papa". Each daughter had her own special story to tell about time they spent with "Papa"
Allie and Elmer were baptized and lived by their Christian beliefs. Elmer was honest and hardworking. He supported his family with his skill of house carpentry.
The tragedy of an automobile/train accident where Elmer dislocated his right kidney and other injuries led to fatal complications. He suffered chronic ayelo-nephritis after the dislocation of his kidney caused by the accident.
He was 64 years, 9 months & 15 days old at the time of his death.

He was originally interred in Greenlawn Cemetery Jasper, Missouri then Re-interred in Park Cemetery Carthage, Missouri in 1971 in the Garden of Prayer.
