Louis J Bentley was born in Morgan County, Alabama the eldest son of Isom Bentley and Sarah Jane Garron Bentley. Louis married Georgia Ann Tidwell December 23, 1886 in Blount County, Alabama. They moved to Montaque County, Texas about 1800, Louis and Georgia had three children Hattie Jane Bentley, Mattie Lillian Bentley and a son Cletys Bentley who died young and is buried next to his Father. Louis died in 1899,at age 34 and his son Cletys was 5 years old in 1900. Also buried in New Harp Cemetery was Louis Bentley's daughter Mattie Lillian and her son Wesley L Hix, she died at age 17 and her son was 3 months old.
