Hattie was the daughter of Georgia Ann Tidwell Bishop and Louis J Bentley, she was born in Alabama. Hattie father Louis died October 19, 1899, he is buried in New Harp Cemetery, New Harp, Montaque County, Texas. Hattie married John Fernando Bishop Febuary 11, 1906 in Wise County, Texas. John died March 6, 1951, and they were the parents of seven children; William Lawrence, Jewel W, Velma Lee, Melbern, Glisby, J. W. and Wade Arthur Bishop.

In the 1930 Census, Olustee, Jackson County, Oklahoma Hattie's Mother Georgia is living with John F Bishop family. In the Census her last name is Georgia Bishop, she had married William H Bishop after the death of her husband, in Montaque, Texas. William Bishop died in 1916 and Hattie moved to Elk City with her son Jim Bishop, she is buried in Elk City. Hattie had one half brother and four sisters. Hattie was the sister of Mattie Bishop Hix, who died at age 17 after the birth of her son, who died also. Hattie's brother is also buried next to her Father in New Harp Cemetery, New Harp, Montaque County, Texas.

Hattie was married three times, she married second a Mr. Baker, and before 1967 she was married to Unknown Mr. Fisher. Hattie died in 1967 and was buried next to John F Bishop the Father of her seven children.

Information furnished by her Grandson Dick Bishop, he was my cousin and as a child Hattie and Velma were neighbors of Helen and Steve Lanning my parents. Dick Bishop's Mother was Margaret Lott she was my Mother's sister. When we were young children we would go to Mrs. Bishop's house and help pluck chickens and they made their aprons out of flower sacks. Back in the 50's they were colorful and beautiful prints. Before my cousin passed away I researched his Bishop Families and gave the information to him. I had been doing genealogy for over 20 years. My biggest regret is not being able to find Mrs. Bishop's husbands Baker and Fisher. (Donna Sutliff)
