Francis and Sarah's family was counted twice in the 1850 Census for Nelson County. All four children were listed both times, but in one record, family #304 taken on August 22, 1850, his occupation is a farmer and in the other record, family #912 taken on November 14, 1850, his occupation is a shoemaker. Both records were taken by D. M. Harris. All subsequent census' list his occupation as farmer.
