Born in Vermont,as were both her parents,she was the wife of Daniel Thompson. They married in Vermont about 1852 where they had a daughter, Emma E. Thompson. The family moved to Ohio and in 1856 another daughter, Alfretta J Thompson was born. Finally, the family moved to Indianapolis,Center Township,Marion County,Indiana where they had Oceola S, Ida May and William Thompson.
Both Daniel and Johanna died in Indianapolis and are buried in Crown Hill Cemetery.
