Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor, 84, of the Oakey Ridge Community, died in an Elba nursing home Friday, March 5, following an illness of several months.

Mrs. Taylor, the wife of the late George W. Taylor, a retired farmer of the Oakey Ridge Community, was a native of Dale County. Mr. Taylor died October 20, 1967. They had resided in Oakey Ridge approximately sixty years.

Survivors include two Andalusia sons, Hubert Taylor and Egie Taylor; a daughter, Mrs. Icey Mae Powell, of Opp; a third son, G.W. Taylor, Milton, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma McQuien, Plant City, Fla.; and Mrs. Mae Cobb, Brewton; three brothers, Willie Hood, Crestview, Fla.; Harvey Hood, Pensacola, Fla.; and Rassie Hood, Vacaville, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, March 10, from Babbie Baptist Church with Rev. Hamp Nelson and Rev. Bobby Driver officiating. Music was by a quartet composed of I.J. Adams, Mrs. Lois Bozeman, and Glenn McAdams, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn McAdams. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, with Rainer’s Funeral Home, of Opp, directing.
Pallbearers were Darney McQuien, Merrill C. Taylor, Leroy Dauphin, Woodrow Taylor, H.D. Taylor, and James L. McQuien.
