LAKE CITY PIONEER DIES HERE
Frank Elbert, who came to Salida about two weeks ago for hospital treatment, died Sunday from a complication of diseases. His brother, Matthew, who had accompanied him to Salida had returned to his home at Lake City and on being advised of the death of Frank, came in on the evening train Monday to attend to funeral arrangements. Both brothers were mining men and unmarried and it was decided to have the burial here. Accordingly funral srvices took place at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Catholic church with interment at Fairview cemetery. The Elbert brothers crossed the plains in 1877 and have since made their home and fortunes in the western hills. Of recent years they have been located at Lake City where they are well known and respected and where numerous friends are grieved over the death of Frank Elbert.
