Oscar “Pappy” Payne, 88, 4110 Woodyard Rd., died Sunday at 2:25 p.m. in Bloomington Hospital.

He was a retired building tradesman and a member of the Knightridge Baptist Church.

Hif (sic) wife, Margaret, filed (sic) in 1957.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Eva) Worley of 4110 Woodyard Rd., Mrs. Sterling (Harriett) Walker, R.1, and Mrs. Martin (Marguerite) Qualls, Houston, Tex.; one son, Eugene, of 311 S. Swain; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Morrison, Duke Rd., and Mrs. Bertha Hancock, 401 S. Dunn; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. One son is deceased.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Greene and Harrell Funeral Chapel with Brother Johnnie Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Knightridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Greene and Harrell Funeral Chapel with Brother Johnnie Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Knightridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Earle Landgrebe, William Sturgeon, Fred Freeman, Otha Hagan, Lenzey Hayes, and Fred Keller. Flowerbearers will be Mrs. Landgrebe, Mrs. Sturgeon, Mrs. Hagan, Mrs. Hayes, Mrs. Keller, Mrs. Harold Kale and Mrs. William Robinson. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime.
