Mary Bassham 1917-2004
Mary Fugitt Bassham, 86, of Ashland, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 8, 1917, in Ashland, Ky., a daughter of the late George O. and Jane Goodwin Wallace. She was a former employee of the King's Daughters' School of Nursing and was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and the King's Daughters Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at King's Daughters Medical Center for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Fugitt and Charles Lowell Bassham, and a son, Michael W. Fugitt.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Carroll of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Deloris Spradlin and her husband, Randolph, of Ashland; a son, Robert Paul Fugitt and his wife, Mary, of Wurtland; eight grandchildren, Dr. Glenn Spradlin, Randi Jane Hogue, Mary Elizabeth Dick, David Carroll, Brian Fugitt, Richard Fugitt, Amanda Fugitt and Michael W. Fugitt Jr.; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Ronnie Mayes and the Rev. Charles E. Stewart. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1544 Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
