Services for Kermit Lamar Walters, 97, of Rayville, LA will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel Rayville with Rev. Rayland Trisler and Rev. Phillip Pazhayakari officiating. Internment to follow in Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Walters was a graduate of Southern Arkansas University, University of Arkansas, and Louisiana State University, During WW II he served in the United States Army Air Corps in the North African and European Theatres. He was a retired Assistant Superintendant of Richland Parish Schools.

He was preceded in death by his parents J. C. and Susie Walters, his first wife Martha Matyska Walters, two brothers Oliver Glynn Walters and John Clinton Walters, Jr. and a sister-in-law Irene Walters.

He is survived by his wife Joyce P. Walters of Rayville, LA; a son Dr. Kermit Lamar Walters, Jr. and his wife Dianne of Monroe, LA, and their son K. Lamar Walters, III and his wife Heather of Monroe, LA their daughter Rosalie Walters of New York City; son Randy Gerald Walters and his wife Stephanie of Rayville and their son R.J. Walters, sister-in-law Joy Walters of Rayville, LA.

Pallbearers, K. Lamar Walters, III, Zachary Watkins, James G. Powell, R. J. Walters, Alan Haynes and Tony Haynes.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
