The deceased was born Jan, 5, 1904, near Sheridan, son of Homer and Lucinda Richardson Stahl. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1922 and from the Indiana University School of Business in 1926. He taught school for 15 years in Louisiana and West Virginia. In 1935 he was married to Mamie Patton.
He moved to Sheridan 18 years ago and was a member of the Sheridan Methodist Church and the Sheridan Lions Club.
A member of the Board of Directors of the American State Bank, he and his brother, Herman were co-owners of the Stahl Lumber Yard and Terhune Grain Elevator and had extensive farm holdings.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mamie Stahl; two sons, William, of Lebanon; Fred of Natchitoches, La., one daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Fouch, Chilicothe, Ohio; six brothers, Herman, Fred, William, Russell and Orval, all of Sheridan and Chauncey, of Parma, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. James Obery, Atlanta, Ind., Mrs. Edith McKinney, Sheridan and Mrs. Ethel Vobach, Carmel.
