Mrs. Margaretha Thon one of Belleville's best known residents, died Thursday at her home, 508 Abend Street, following a protracted illness. Mrs. Thon was born in Germany February 7, 1845, and emigrated to Belleville, in 1857. Her marriage took place on January 12, 1873, he died October 15, 1897. Deceased is survived by the following children: C.O. and W.H. Thon, Mrs. William Halbert and Mrs. Howard Place all of Belleville. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her last residence to Walnut Hill Cemetery.
