Major Robert Poore was the son of Robert Montagu Poore and Anna Maria Massy-Dawson. He married Juliana Benita Lowry-Corry, daughter of R-Adml Armar Lowry-Corry, on 5 May 1863.
He died aged 83.
Major Robert Poore was Justice of the Peace (J.P.). He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 8th Hussars. He lived at Old Lodge, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. He was Major 8th Hussars Crimean War and Indian Mutiny in 1857,
