Jay Boone, 95, of Windom community, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Brookside Rehabilitation and Care.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Dove and Kate Hicks Boone and the husband of Edith Hamby Boone, who died in 2003.
Surviving are three daughters, Connie Worley and husband, Barry, of Arden, Bessie Woody of Green Mountain and Ruth Gowan of Marion; two sons, Reece Boone and Allen Boone and wife, Patricia, of Windom community; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held in Robinson Cemetery on Rock Creek Road.
