Mrs. Clara Standerford, 76, widow of A. N. Standerford, died at 12:45 o'clock Thursday morning at her home, 624 West Taylor street. While she had been in ill health for several years, the end came suddenly.

The body has been removed to the Jacobs funeral home where the funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Gerald Miller of the Main Street Christian church officiating. Burial will be in the Albright cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 o'clock Thursday night.

Clara Tolle Standford was born February 9, 1867, on a farm one mile west of Hemlock, the daughter of Henry and Sarah Louise Wilson Tolle. When a baby, she moved with her parents to Tipton county, where she lived for 32 years. Her mother died when she was five years old.

She moved to Kokomo in 1908, living on East Superior street just east of the high school building for 21 years. She had lived in her present home since 1929. Her marriage to Mr. Standerford took place October 31, 1915 and he died March 31, 1930.

Joining the Main Street Christian church in 1913, Mrs. Standerford had been an active and faithful member as long as her health permitted.

The nearest surviving relative is a niece, Mrs. Eva McCreary, and there are several cousins. One brother, Ferd Tolle, is deceased.
