Leo Barber, Jr. was born on February 3, 1936 to Leo, Sr. and Margret Barber in Demopolis, Alabama. Leo confessed Christ at an early age. He attended The New Morning Star Baptist Church in Demopolis, Alabama. Leo attended U.S. Jones High School. Leo worked for Cyclo Services in Schiller Park, Illinois, until he retired.

Leo married Naomi Alexander and five children were born. He later moved to Chicago, Illinois with Harriet and two children were born, Nathaniel and Nadine. Leo later joined the Upper Room Spiritual Church, under the leadership of Bishop Mary Thatch, where he united with Annie Kimble and to this union; two children were born, Earnestine and Tyrone.

Leo loved to sing with his group, The Kingdom Al1 Stars. His favorite songs were Precious Lord and When I Get There.

On Tuesday May 26, 2009, Leo made his transition into a new life. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Demetria; both parents, Leo and Margret Barber; and a sister, Susie.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted soul mate, Annie Kimble (Barber); his children, Earnestine, Tyrone (Ebony), Lillie (Joe),Jessie (Barbara), Clarence, Lucius (Chris), Jimmie, Anthony (Karen), Mary (Gary), Tracy (Regina), all of Chicago, Illinois, Leo III, LaCrystal, Bridgette and Richard, all of Park Forest, Illinois; Nathaniel and Nadine both of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother, Jessie (Mary) of Birmingham, Alabama; one sister, Claudia of St. Louis, Missouri; one godson, Jovan of Chicago, Illinois twenty-eight grandchildren and Twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of Birmingham, Chicago, California, Las Vegas and Texas.
