Margaret was born on January 1, 1918, in Lockett, Texas, to Edward E. and Emma (Henke) Herschman. She was one of the first triplets born in Wilbarger County, Texas. She married Archie E. Phillips on October 27, 1934, in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1994. Margaret worked for the Carnation Company, Johnson and Johnson and Gibson's when all three were in Wichita Falls. She was a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church where she loved doing crafts for Bible School Classes. She, also, enjoyed clothing the less fortunate through the Clothes Closet at the church. Her six brothers, Alfred, Arthur, Paul, Walter, Ernest, Edmond and Max; three sisters, Ellie Ming, Martha Herschman and Magdalene Layton; one son-in-law, Donald Gilpin; one daughter, Marge Awtry; one son, Curtis Phillips; and three granddaughters, Tracy Phillips, Stacy Phillips and Margaret Bell, also precede her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Nora Reams and husband Richard of Wichita Falls; one daughter-in-law, Linda Phillips of Houston; one sister, Nora Jackie Woosley of Ray City, Georgia; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the funeral home 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday for visitation.
