Oliver G. 'O.G.', age 83, of Oklahoma City, was born December 6, 1917 in Chapman, Nebraska to Swan Pete and Anna (Speck) Engquist. He passed away Monday, September 17, 2001 at his home. O.G. served his country during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was a self-employed painting contractor throughout his lifetime, and was a member of the Cherokee Hills Baptist Church. O.G. was a kind and compassionate person, and he particularly enjoyed volunteering with his wife Juanita at the Baptist Integris Hospital. He is survived by his wife Juanita; his son Harry Mitchell; his daughters Jackie Bartels, Jerri Harkins, and Judy Tullos; his brothers Leslie Engquist and Delbert Engquist; and his sisters Thelma Stoltenberg, Bernice Buis, and Mayetta Harris. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Wesley, Calvin, Spencer, and Donald Engquist; and his sisters Mildred Cunningham and Gertrude Frizzell. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2001 at the Cherokee Hills Baptist Church, 5700 NW 63rd Street. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
