MRS. DAVID TIPTON

Melissa J. daughter of Samuel and Parthenia Minear, was born in Schuyler County, Mo., near the Antioch church Dec. 18, 1850.

She was married to David J. Tipton Aug. 30, 1877 at Queen City and began housekeeping on what is now the James Tipton farm. To this union were born five children, four boys and one girl, the daughter having died in infancy. She is survived by the father and four sons, Henry E. of Palmer, Neb., Earl, James and Samuel, all of Queen City. She is aso survived by eight grandchildren, Edith, Lula, Maxine, Roy and Daisy Pearl, Dean Earl and Ely, all of Queen City and David Webster of Palmer, Neb. Also one brother and four sisters, John Minear, Martha Dickerson of Livonia, Sarah Oliver of Queen City, Sirena Davis of Erwin Mo., and Ardenia Bragg of Gibbs, Mo., other relatives and scores of friends for she numbered her friends by her acquaintances.

She was a good neighbor, a faithful and loving wife and mother, her children called her blessed.

She moved with her husband to the present home some twenty three years ago where she passed away Jan 24, 1928, aged 77 years, 1 month and 6 days.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Queen City Friday afternoon, Jan. 27, 1928, conducted by Evangelist Perley M. Lind, after which interment was made in the Myers cemetery
