Artemas Alexander, age 79, of Rogersville,
Alabama, passed away Sept. 19, 2002, after
an extended illness. Mr. Alexander was a
longtime resident of Lauderdale county. He
was retired from Reynolds Metals Company,
where he worked as a supervisor for 32.5
years. He was also a farmer who enjoyed
raising cattle. Artemas enjoyed hard work
and was always there for those in need. He
loved the Lord and was a deacon at the
Anderson Primitive Baptist Church. He will
be greatly missed by the residents of
Goodman Hollow and surrounding areas.
He was preceded in death by his father,
William Lois Alexander;
mother, Velma Payne Alexander;
brothers, Clement and William Lois
Alexander, Jr.;
sisters, Emma Springer and Ruth Jones;
granddaughter, Gina Springer.
He is survived by his wife, Eddie Nell
Alexander of Rogersville, Alabama;
brothers, Bill Alexander, Murfreeboro, Tn.
Judson Alexander, Ashland City, Tenn;
daughters, Judy Tomlinson and husband,
Wendall, Paducah, Ky., Sandy Parrish and
husband, Charlie, Greenhill, Alabama,
Martha Hardy and husband, Charles, of
Rogersville, Alabama;
nephew, Dewayne Springer and wife,
Martha Lou of Whitehead, Alabama;
grandchildren, James Tomlinson, Thomas
Tomlinson, Heather Franklin, Shana
Masconia, Ryan Hardy, Casey Hardy and
Ada Butler;
and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation was
5-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2002 at Spry
Chapel of Rogersville, Alabama. Services
will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002
Spry Chapel of Rogersville, with the Rev.
Ralph Moyer officiating. Burial will be in the
Civitan Cemetery, Rogersville, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be George Williams, Tom
Hardy, Eric Childers, Ray Goodman, Myron
Goodman, and Bill Turpin.

Spry Chapel of Rogersville, Alabama is
directing.
